Ankita is originally from West Bengal, India, a region she holds close to her heart for its rich culture, natural beauty, and, of course, its cuisine. She earned her Master’s degree from the Central University of Karnataka in South India, where she worked on natural products under the guidance of Prof. Harish Holla.
At the start of her graduate study at IU Bloomington, her adventure in enzymatic catalysis led her to discover a deeper passion for organic chemistry. In January 2026, she joined the Huang Group, where her research focuses on developing new organic methodologies and exploring polymer chemistry.
Outside the lab, Ankita is a huge BTS fan. She often spends weekends working with music playing in the background, her favorite way to stay in the zone.
